Retiring and Relocation

Have you ever thought of moving to a warm, sunny locale when you retire?  I have considered moving to Virginia, North Carolina, or South Carolina.  What area of the country would you want to live?  Do you want to ski or walk on a sandy beach?

I found some great information about places to retire on the US News website.  Check out the Best Places to Retire for Under $40,000.  Check out the article and let me know which city you would choose?  Albuquerque, New Mexico, Columbia, South Carolina, Augusta, Georgia, San Antonio, Texas or one of the other cities on the list?

US News has also considered our recent economic issues and have suggested places to retire on Social Security income alone.  What do you think of Boone, North Carolina, State College, Pennsylvania, Blacksburg, Virginia, or Syracuse, New York?   Not surprisingly, some of the cities listed are college towns.

The articles definitely provide food for thought. I love the fact that I could retire to a new location without having a huge nest egg!  Have you considered the top five features that you would use to determine your new location?

Get Organized Month

Posted by on Dec 25, 2012 in A Place For Everything Blog | 0 comments

The National Organization of Professional Organizers (“NAPO”) has designated January as Get Organized month. NAPO members are professional organizers and productivity specialists, dedicated to helping clients bring order and efficiency into their homes, offices and lives. NAPO members offer specialized skills, and knowledge about the tools and resources essential to improving personal productivity and time management for individuals, families and businesses. NAPO established GO Month in January 2003 to focus national attention on how getting organized empowers people to take back control over their time, in-boxes, paperwork and possessions.

January also marks the one-year anniversary of Cut Clutter Now. 2012 was a great year. I was able to help bring a more organized, less stressful life to many families. One of the things that I love the most about being a professional organizer is meeting so many people and being able to contribute my skills in a way to benefit their lives. I also love the variety of work that we do together. One day I may be in someone’s garage assisting them to organize their tools and another day may be in their bedroom organizing their closet. Some of the other projects we have done include paper management. Whether it’s setting up files in their office, organizing their bookshelves or providing guidance on what documents to keep and what should be shredded. I also use my skills as a Human Resource professional to provide administrative support to their small business.

A poll by NAPO asked that When clients ask for organizing assistance, what services do they request most? According to a recent NAPO poll, members agreed that the majority of their clients request services and guidance related to organizing home offices. Despite rapid growth in the use of mobile devices and dependence on email and texting, paper organization still ranks highest on the list of concerns for many business and individuals—83% of NAPO poll respondents confirmed that organizing paperwork remains a top priority for many clients. Other rooms commonly in need of organization and restructuring include the kitchen, bedroom and garage.

If you are struggling with getting started to leading a more organized life, be sure to contact me and we will work together to get you on the path to organizing and maintaining an organized lifestyle.
